Beyond merely entertaining audiences, you’ll be encouraged to engage passionately with your music—to truly communicate a mastery of experience and emotion. That’s why in every class, rehearsal and performance, students are motivated to higher standards that will encourage them to develop and expand their God-given gifts and ultimately share them with others.

16177726205_0b84a28010_oWe believe in making connections.
Unlike typical music schools that preserve the past with a traditional repertoire, CBU’s music is forward-looking. The school’s musical philosophy is driven by the idea of making connections: between the music and the performer, the performer and the conductor, and the performer and the audience.

You’ll work with the latest music technology on both your personal MacBook Pro computers and in computer labs and classrooms located within the state-of-the-art Hawkins Music Building. Software for professional and audio production, sequencing and publishing quality notation are used each day in many of the core music courses.
