
CBU Jazz Ensemble
The CBU Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group dedicated to performing music for standard jazz ensemble with a foundation rooted firmly in the music of past masters. With a repertoire spanning the entire history of large jazz ensembles, the Jazz Ensemble also performs present-day compositions and collaborates with composers, artists, and clinicians from the jazz community and helps train members in jazz improvisation and theory skills.

Mr. Dan St. Marseille
Conductor, Jazz Ensemble
Mr. Dan St. Marseille is a renowned Jazz saxophonist/clarinetist who plays in the tradition of all the jazz legends. Employing a warm tone and melodic approach, he has won praise from jazz critics worldwide and has worked with many major jazz and commercial artists and bands.
Dan's recordings are heard internationally on jazz radio and have been the subject of articles in such publications as Downbeat, JazzTimes, Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register, Japan's Jazz Critic magazine, France’s International Herald Tribune, among others. St. Marseille's recordings have received four-star ratings in the third edition of the All Music Guide to Jazz; The Experts Guide to the Best Jazz.
Dan holds a B.M. in Clarinet Performance from Chapman University and an M.M. in Saxophone Performance with Jazz Studies Emphasis from California State University Fullerton. His private teachers include George Waln, David Atkins, Gary Foster, and Arthur Hoberman.
